National telecommunication operator, Globacom has advised the Super Eagles to go for total victory against the Red Devils of Congo when both sides clash in the crucial 2015 African Cup of Nations qualifier in Pointe -Noire on Saturday.
Globacom, in a press statement in Lagos on Wednesday called on the Stephen Keshi-led coaching crew to evolve the right strategy required to achieve victory in Pointe Noire so that Nigeria can remain in contention for one of the group’s tickets to the 2015 African Cup of Nations.
Globacom urged the team to work hard and go for early goals which according to the company, “will give the team the necessary confidence to win the match and pick the three points at stake.”
The Super Eagles who lost to the Congolese side on September 6 at the U.J Esuene Stadium in Calabar requires six points to qualify from the Group. As it stands, only a clear win over Congo and Republic of South Africa will guarantee the Eagles a place in the 2015 African Cup of Nations.
According to Globacom: “The Eagles should be focussed and take inspiration from their last victory over Sudan in Abuja. Our belief in the Super Eagles has remained unshaken?. We shall be delighted to see them flying Nigeria’s flag high at the 2015 African Cup of Nations.”
“The Eagles also need the victory in Congo to boost their morale ahead of another crucial home match against South Africa on November 19 which they equally need to win to have a realistic chance of going to 2015 African Cup of Nations.
Nigeria with four points occupies the third position in Group D, while Congo is in the second position with seven points. South Africa tops the group with eight points with Sudan rocking the bottom of the table with three points.
Globacom is the major partner of the Nigeria Football Federation and official sponsor of the Nigerian national teams.
