Gold Coast 2018: Nigeria’s Igbinosu, Idamadudu Crash In Women’s 200m Semis

Nigeria’s representatives in the women’s 200m athletics event, Isoken Igbinosu and Praise Idamadudu, failed to qualify for the final of the event at the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games in Australia on Wednesday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Igbinosu placed seventh with a time of 24.03 seconds in the women’s 200m semi-final 3.

She had made it to the semi-finals recording one of the four best fastest times not to qualify automatically from the Heats.

Igbinosu earlier placed fourth in the women’s 200m round 1 – Heat 5 finishing with a time of 23.54 seconds.

Praise Idamadudu also placed seventh with a time of 23.69 seconds in the women’s 200m semi-final 2.

She had qualified from the women’s 200m round 1 – Heat 1, placing fourth with a time of 23.55 which was her season’s best.

She also made it to the semi-finals recording one of the four best fastest times not to qualify automatically from the Heats.

Shaunae Miller from Bahrain won the women’s 200m semi-final 2 race with a time of 22.48 seconds while Elaine Thomspon from Jamaica came second.

    Only para athletes are doing well the able bodied Nigerian athletes are nothing to write home about no single gold from the able bodied ones all 4 gold coming from the para athletes.
