Lobi Stars and MFM FC will play in the final of the Gold Cup after securing wins in their semi-final fixtures against Kano Pillars and Remo Stars respectively on Friday, reports www.Completesportsnigeria.com.
Lobi Stars edged defending champions Kano Pillars 3-1 in a highly entertaining encounter.
Pillars took the lead through Gambo Mohammed in the 16th minute.
Lobi Stars were awarded a penalty in the 30th minute after Pillars defender, Chris Madaki handled the ball in the box and Sunday Akleche stepped up to tuck the penalty into the net.
Nwangwa Nyima gave Lobi Stars the lead for the first time in the game in the 72nd minute, while Ifeanyi Nyam added the third 10 minutes from time.
In the other semi-final fixture, MFM FC beat Remo Stars 3-1 on penalties to secure the final ticket.
Scoreline at regulation time stood at 1-1 with the Olukoya Boys converting three of their five spot kicks, while Sky Blues only scored one.
The final will be played on Sunday at the Otunba Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode.
