Gross Out Of Cardiff Trip

Gross Out Of Cardiff Trip

Brighton will be without Pascal Gross and three other first-team players for Saturday’s trip to Cardiff City. Former Germany Under-19 international Gross last featured in a Premier League game at the start of September – the 2-2 draw with Fulham – and he has been on the sidelines since because of an ankle injury.

The 27-year-old midfielder will be missing for the trip to Wales although he is expected to be back for the home clash against Leicester City after the international break.

Seagulls manager Chris Hughton has also confirmed midfielder Davy Propper, summer signing Alireza Jahanbakhsh and goalkeeper David Button are unavailable due to their respective injuries.

“Pascal Gross and Davy Propper will both miss out this weekend,” he said at a press conference. “Jahanbakhsh also picked up a slight strain last weekend and he hasn’t trained this week so will probably miss out. “David Button is also carrying a knock.”

Hughton also spoke about the fitness of striker Glenn Murray, adding: “Glenn always trains really well – he rarely misses a session and has always been available. “My feeling with him is that if he does need a rest it won’t be down to his age, it might be other circumstances.”
