Guardiola: Manchester City Lucky In 4-0 Win Vs West Ham

Pep Guardiola has stated that his Manchester City side had luck and was nowhere near their best despite hitting four goals past West Ham in Saturday’s English Premier League clash at the Olympic Stadium.

Manchester City recorded an eighth consecutive victory in all competitions and remained two points above Liverpool who also defeated Watford 3-0 away from home in the Premier League.

A brace from Leroy Sane and strikes from David Silva and Raheem Sterling secured a comfortable win for Manchester City.

“If you see the result, especially after the international break, it is good,” Guardiola told BBC Sport.

“You see Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester United – they struggled.

“The players train in a different way, so it is difficult to come back.”

“West Ham had chances and they didn’t score. We were quite lucky but we will come back to our best.”

“We are a humble team and today we weren’t at our best – too many touches, our passing was not good enough but our running was fantastic.”

Manchester City will face Olympique Lyon on Tuesday in a top-of-the-table UEFA Champions League group match and then host Bournemouth in the Premier League next Saturday.
