Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi played in central defence on Saturday at the Vitality Stadium but had an average performance while Eden Hazard scored twice, his first goals of the season, as Chelsea romped to a 4-1 win over Bournemouth.
Pedro and Willian were the other scorers for the Blues as they moved up to ninth in the table.
Chelsea scored first through Pedro in the fifth minute when received a delightful pass inside the box and smashed a precise shot inside the left post.
Eden Hazard doubled the lead 29 minutes later with a shot outside the box but the celebration had not died down before Bournemouth’s Tommy Elphick grabbed a goal for his side with a header that keeper Asmir Begovic could not keep away.
The crowd yelled at the match officials in the 45th minute when Mikel was suspected to have made a challenge on Lewis Grabban that should have earned Eddie Howe’s team a penalty.
Mikel also cleared the ball rather unconvincingly in the 64th minute for a corner.
Willian made it 3-1 with 20 minutes left on the clock when he dinked the ball above the onrushing keeper, Artur Boruc, from a Cesc Fabregas assist.
Hazard scored his brace and Chelsea’s fourth goal in the 90th minute. The Belgian was composed to bury the ball into the back of the net as he received a pass from Nemanja Matic.
