Players and officials of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Heartland Football Club of Owerri, were involved in an auto accident on Wednesday on their way to honour the rescheduled matchday 35 fixture against El-Kanemi Warriors, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The accident Completesportsnigeria.com learnt occurred along Maiduguri road.
Though no life was lost during accident, Completesportsnigeria.com further scooped that a good number of the players and officials were badly injured.
They were making their way from the airport to the city centre when the accident occurred.
The Naze Millionaires who are fighting hard to escape the drop are scheduled to face El-Kanemi Warriors at the El-Kanemi Stadium on Thursday.
It is the third time a team in the NPFL will be involved in a motor accident this season following similar incidents which happened to Rivers United and Ikorodu United.
Recently Akwa United fans were also involved in a road accident on their way to Port Harcourt which claimed one life.
