Heartland Set To Unleash 8 New Signings On Opponents

Heartland are confident the addition of eight new players to their fold will boost their chances of winning a domestic title this term and also qualify for a continental competition.

The General Manager of the Owerri club, Okechukwu Ibe, said the coming of the players at midseason is all the Naze Millionaires needed to compete against the likes of Kano Pillars and Enyimba in the Nigeria Premier League.

He said both the management and technical crew of the club have been working to strengthen the squad that featured in the first round of the season.

He also confirmed that left-back, Eddy Ongolo, had rejoined the team.Among the new signings are former Gombe United defender, McMarcel Obiora, striker Isa Aminu from Kaduna United, attacker Fred Okwara from Dolphins and former Ocean Boys forward, Collins Nwaneri.

Chinedu Ezimora, who is making a comeback to Owerri from Majees Sports Club of Omani, has also joined Heartland. Mobi Okoli is joining from Bryne FK of Norway , Clement Bobby from a Lagos State amateur side Fame FC, and midfielder John Nnam is joining from Sunshine Stars.

Heartland are also hoping that another midfielder, whose documents have been submitted to the league board, would be cleared to join the team.
