Henri Michel: I Want Eagles Job

The Super Eagles job has continued to attract coaches from different nations even before the Stephen Keshi was relieved of the job late Wednesday night by the new board of the NFF.

The Super Eagles are currently on a low as the African Champions are struggling to make a mark in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers for Morocco 2015.

The Super Eagles job was taken over by former Eagles captain Stephen Keshi in 2011 after Nigeria failed to qualify for the 2012 AFCON under another former Eagles forward, Samson Siasia.

Keshi took the team to the Nations Cup in South Africa and brought back the trophy after nineteen years wait by Nigeria, he didn’t perform too well at the 2013 FIFA Confederation Cup but became the first indigenous coach to take the Super Eagles to the round of 16 at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

At the moment, the Super Eagles of Nigeria are struggling and the pressure on the coach, Stephen Keshi increased after a home loss to Congo, a draw to South Africa and an away loss to Sudan in the AFCON qualifiers.

According to reports the match against Sudan on Wednesday May decide the future of Keshi with the Eagles but coaches who want Nigeria are already showing interest.

Henri Michel who managed Cameroon in 1994, Morocco between 1995-2000 and also managed Côte d’Ivoire, came back to Morocco and then Kenya in 2004-2006, 2007 and 2012 respectively has confirmed to sl10.ng that he is ready to be the next Super Eagles coach.

Henri Michel who has also managed a host of African Clubs confirmed that he is ready to handle the Super Eagles.

“I’m ready to be Nigeria National team coach and I truly want to work in Nigeria,” Henri Michel confirmed to sl10.ng

The Super Eagles will take on Sudan on Wednesday in a match Nigeria desperately need to win.
