Former Nigeria Professional Football League hotshot, Jude Aneke has completed a sensational swith to CAF Champions League campaigners, Warri Wolves, Completesportsnigeria.com can report.
Aneke was initially reported to have teamed up with his former Belgian coach, Maurice Cooreman at reigning Federation Cup champions, Akwa United on his return from Spartak Semey, Kazakhastan.
But an official of Warri Wolves informed Completesportsnigeria.com Sunday afternoon, that Aneke’s purported Akwa United switch collapsed, paving the way for the striker to link up with Warri Wolves.
“I want to inform you that Jude Aneke has signed for us. As I speak with you, he is in our camp after completing the signing of a two-year deal with us,” Warrri Wolves media officer, Azuka Chiamaka told completesportsnigeria.com.
Completesportsnigeria.com's findings reveal that Aneke did not reach financial terms with Akwa United leading to his switch to Warri Wolves.
The Warri Wolves official further narrated to Completesportsnigeria.com: “When Aneke came back from Europe, his former coach who is now in-charge at Akwa United, Maurice Cooreman, invited him over.
“He honoured the invitation, but he was not pleased with financial package of the proposed contract.
“Luckily for us, a friend of Aneke’s who is also one of our players, Osagie, a defender called him and convinced him to come to Warri Wolves."
The 25-year-old scored 20 goals in 2011 to erase the 17-goals record set in the previous season by Ahmed Musa.
Aneke had featured for Warri Wolves in 2012 after scoring 13 goals for Kaduna United in his debut season following a move from Anambra Pillars.
Aneke moved to Spartak Semey, a Premier League side in Kazakhastan on July 18, 2014. He is rejoining Warri Wolves as a free agent.
Last week, Aneke told Completesportsnigeria.com that he was lured to Akwa United by his former coach at Kaduna United, Maurice Cooreman.
