By Johnny Edward:
Super Eagles manager Gernot Rohr has kept faith with the trio of Joel Obi, Francis Uzoho and Bryan Idowu to start tonight’s international friendly against Serbia, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ogenyi Onazi, who started the game against Poland on the bench, will be back in the starting line-up. He will be deployed in a three-man midfield alongside Joel Obi and Wilfred Ndidi.
Also expected to start in attack is Ahmed Musa in place of Odion Ighalo, while Kenneth Omeruo replaces the injured Leon Balogun.
There’s also a rare start for Tyronne Ebuehi who replaces the injured Shehu Abdulahi at right-back.
The German tactician also kept faith with Victor Moses and Alex Iwobi on the flanks for the game.
“He (Rohr) keeps people guessing and I think that unpredictability is what stands him out and that could be a good omen for us at the World Cup,” a Super Eagles source told CSN.
The game will will hold at the Hive stadium in London. Kick-off time is 8pm.
Super Eagles likely line up:
Tyronne, Ekong, Omeruo, Idowu
Joel, Onazi, Ndidi
Musa, Moses, Iwobi.
