Manager Chris Hughton feels recent displays mean Brighton should head into Sunday’s home clash with Chelsea full of confidence.
The Seagulls welcome Maurizio Sarri’s side to the Amex after a decent run of results that has seen them pick up seven points from their past four games.
They sit in 16th spot heading into the weekend’s fixtures after drawing with Leicester and beating Huddersfield and Crystal Palace, with the only negative being Saturday’s 1-0 loss at Burnley.

The south-coast venue has become crucial to the club’s survival hopes and the players have certainly not disappointed, with four wins and two draws from seven home games this term.
And it is his side’s displays on their own patch against some of the biggest clubs, plus their narrow loss at Turf Moor, that has led Hughton to believe they could get something from the visit of the high-flying Blues.
“We should do (approach the game with confidence) because we are on the back of a really good performance in our last home game and it was a good enough performance at Burnley to get something,” he told the Argus.
“It will be a big crowd. If I look at our performances, Tottenham was close, United we were able to beat. We will have to pull out the type of performance we have in the past against the big clubs.”
