The duo of West Browmwich Albion’s Nigerian internationals, Brown Ideye and Victor Anichebe will be available for selection as the Baggies travel to the 60355-capacity Emirates Stadium to take on host Arsenal in what will be one of the most interesting matches that will signal the end of the 2014/2015 English Premier League season.
Host Arsenal have much at stake going into this tie while West Brom will only be playing for pride. The Gunners are desperate to finish 3rd on the league table and need only a draw to retain their current standing to stay above rivals Manchester United who could still leapfrog the Gunners if they lose to the Baggies and provided the Devils managed to record a very high scoreline victory over relegation-threatened Hull City also tomorrow. With just a round of matches to go, Arsenal have 72 points, United 69 while West Brom are 13th on the log with 44 points which places them well above relegation waters.
Ideye played a cameo role in West Brom’s 3-0 bashing of Chelsea only last Monday to make the Champions eat some humble pies and they would relish playing the spoiler role against another EPL top-4 team just like they earlier did to United whom they pipped 1-0 at the Old Trafford three weeks back. With the Baggies.
The season did not start too well for the embattled Super Eagles forwards at West Brom but both Ideye and Anichebe will be ending the season on a high with their recent good showing which has seen them score 4 and 3 goals respectively. It remains to be seen if both players would get coach Stephen Keshi’s nod to return to international action for Nigeria in the near future.
