Embattled Super Eagles forward, Brown Ideye will be hoping to get coach Alan Irvin’s nod when West Brom file out against Aston Villa today at their 28003-capacity home ground, The Hawthorns.
Ideye has struggled since making a club record 10million Euros switch from Ukrainian side, Dynamo Kyiv at the start of the season and has only featured in 5 EPL games for the Baggies totalling 215 minutes and with no goal to his credit. But the 26-year old have been working his socks off to impress coach Irvin in training of late and further boosted his chances of selection for today’s tie by grabbing a brace in the 5-2 win over Northampton in a friendly game of recent.
Ideye’s compatriot at West Brom Victor Anichebe will also be available for selection as he was not named in the squad’s injury list. Either of the two Nigerians could be picked to partner 7-goal hotshot Saido Berahino upfront as West Brom will be aiming to return to winning ways after picking just a point in their last five outings which has seen them dropped to the 16th position on the league table.
