FC Midtjylland attacker Sylvester Igboun was over the moon after winning the Player of the Month Award for September in the Danish Superliga.
The 24-year-old was given the monthly accolade for the first time since he joined the club from partner club FC Ebedei before FC Midtjylland clashed with Hobro on Friday.
”First I want to say thanks to God for making me who I am today. He has done so much for me, and I can’t stop thanking him,” says Sylvester Igboun to SL10.ng.
”This award is special to me and I know I deserve it because I have been doing very well since the start of the season. And the month of September was one that I put in a great performance, scoring goals, and that’s why I was chosen.”
He continued : ”It is my first time to win the award, and it’s an honour to win it especially when we have so many great players in the League. I won the award, this is special.”
”I dedicate the award to my teammates, family, friends, fans and my Agege family.”
Sylvester Igboun was the main reason behind FC Midtjylland topping the Danish Superliga at the end of September, after smashing four goals in three appearances, which contributed to the team garnering maximum points from those fixtures.
He still has a valid contract with FC Midtjylland until the summer of 2016.
