Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo was in action for Changchun Yatai but could not prevent them from losing 1-0 at home to league leaders Guangzhou Evergrande in the Chinese Super League on Sunday.
Ighalo, who made his seventh league appearance for Changchun, was on for 90 minutes as Lipeng Zhang’s 62nd minute goal sealed the win for the visitors.
The defeat was Changchun’s sixth of the season after nine games (two wins, one draw).
Changchun are now 13th on seven points in the 16-team league while Guangzhou Evergrande are top on the log on 22 points.
Ighalo has scored two goals for Changchun (in April) since making the switch from the English Premier League to the Chinese League.
