Nigerian forward Odion Ighalo failed to score in his second straight game for Watford whose two-game winning streak came to an abrupt end with a 2-0 loss to Burnley at Turf Moor on Monday night, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Two goals in each half from corner kicks handed Watford their third defeat of the season. It was Ighalo's sixth start this season for Watford who dropped to 12th on the log.
Ighalo's drought meant he failed to match his best ever start to a league season in his club career after six games.
The former Granada forward bagged four goals in his first six games in the EPL last season compared to his only strike against West Ham so far this term.
Jeff Hendrick's towering header in the 38th minute from a Steven Defour corner kick gave the Clarets a deserved lead in the first half.
Michael Keane doubled the lead for Sean Dyche's men in the 50th minute when he powered home another header from another Defour corner.
Ighalo's compatriot, Isaac Success, came on for Nordin Amrabat in the 58th minute for his fourth substitute appearance for the Hornets since joining this summer.
He was booked ten minutes later for a foul on Stephen Ward in the 65th minute. He had a chance to pull a goal back but his effort went wide after his swift run into the box from the left flank.
Watford host Bournemouth in their next on Saturday while Burnley host Arsenal next.
