Kelechi Iheanacho was an unused substitute during Manchester City's 2-1 Premier League win over Burnley at Turf Moor on Saturday.
It was the fourth straight game the Nigerian international was benched.
A goal in each half from Argentine forward Sergio Aguero cancelled out Dean Marney's 14th minute strike.
The result moves City to the top of the league with Chelsea and Liverpool yet to play.
Marney’s excellent strike, his first Premier League goal in seven years since scoring for Hull against Everton in November 2009, gave the hosts the lead.
But Aguero equalised with his 15th goal of an impressive season in all competitions for City.
He then doubled his side's lead, but he didn't know too much about it as the ball scrambled off him into the net.
Aguero is now tied with Chelsea's Diego Costa on the top scoring chart.
Manchester City face Chelsea in their next game.
