Villareal of Spain striker, Ikechukwu Uche says playing tomorrow’s must-win 2015 AFCON qualifying game on an artificial pitch in Pointe Noire, Congo will not pose any problem for the Super Eagles.
Nigeria play Congo in the penultimate game of the qualification series and Uche, making a comeback to the Eagles nest after almost two years out is confident the Eagles will soar in Congo.
‘Playing on an artificial pitch shouldn’t be a problem for us.It is not to the advantage of the Congolese either and I believe we both must adapt to it and any other circumstance. It is our job and we are professionals so we must deal with it as best as we can,”he told the media before the team’s departure to Congo. Uche also revealed that the Eagles are not under any intense pressure albeit they know it is a must-win game tomorrow.
‘We are not under any pressure because of the nature of the game.We know the two games (Vs Congo and South Africa) are very important but we are professional football players and we have played very important games so this is what we are used to and we will try to win the remaining games and qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations.’
