Super Eagles striker Ikechukwu Uche has expressed his wish for the quick recovery of the stricken Wilfred Agbonavbare.
The former Nigeria and Rayo Vallecano goalkeeper has been bed-ridden for some time, suffering from cancer.
A big banner with Agbonavbare’s picture and a get well message was held up by the players of both Atletico Madrid and Rayo Vallecano on Saturday night before their La Liga clash to honour the former player.
Uche also joined in showing support for his compatriot with a Twitter message on Saturdat night.
He tweeted: “My prayer for Wilfred, former Nigerian legend goalkeeper. #FuerzaWilfred . My support for his family and friends.”
Agbonavbare, 48, was in the Nigeria squad to the 1994 World Cup.
