Ike Uche’s Goal Seals Away Win For Gimnastic

By James Agberebi:
Former Super Eagles striker Ikechukwu Uche scored the winner for Gimnastic who pipped Numancia 2-1 away in the Spanish second division on Sunday.

Uche scored the winning goal with three minutes remaining to give Gimnastic the victory.

Manu Barreiro had given Gimnastic the lead in the second minute before his own goal on six minutes drew Numancia level.

The win took Gimnastic to 14th on 18 points in the 22-team league.

Uche’s last goals for Gimnastic were on October 15 in a 5-1 away win against Cordoba where he scored twice.

The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner has now scored six goals in 11 league appearances.

This guy, Ike Uche is really hot this time around, I have said that in several occasions. Coach Rohr have a lot of work to do if he wants balance in his team. Obafemi Martin is doing very well and don’t be surprised if Martins and Ike Uche are back into the team. But the only thing that the team lack is, play maker. The only player we have now is Nwakeli the Amunike Under17 captain. Plus these experienced players, hmm. We will rule the world. We also have Paul Onuchi. That’s why Rohr must be calling player on merit. These are the areas the coach needed to improve on. We need experience players in the front, we have Mikel in the middle and we have Ekong and Balogun in the back. So, goal keeper and strikes are the main problem for the current team. I believe in young goal keepers, Rohr should make Alanpasun and Usohu as his main goal keepers ahead of the world cup, should be in case if Enyeama and Ikeme doesn’t make the team. These two goal keepers, Usohu and Alanpasun would deliver because, they have confidence, boldness and they are ready to go. By God’s grace, we are going to have a solid team before the world cup. Good job coach Rohr and the NFF. God bless Nigeria!!!
