Super Eagles striker Ikechukwu Uche and his teammates will play ambitious Italian Serie A side, Sassuolo in a prestigous friendly at the El Madrigal on August 14.
Uche was omitted from the Eagles’ World Cup party by Stephen Keshi who deemed the skilful ace an “indisciplined” player, an accusation has stunned many Nigerian fans.
The World Cup would have been a window of opportuinity for Uche to attract a bigger name but with the disappointment now firmly in the past, the pre-season friendlies could be the perfect chance to impress for the Yellow Submarine and possibly invite clubs to bid for his services in what is likely to be his last big pay deal of his career.
The Serie A side, Sassuolo, who survived their debut top flight campaign, will take part in the Trofeo de la Ceramica.
Sassuolo are also going to take on Juventus and Milan in the Trofeo TIM on August 23.
