By Johnny Edward:
Wolverhampton Wanderers' goalkeeper Carl Ikeme hopes the hip injury he sustained in his side's 1-1 draw away to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday at Ewood Park is not too serious, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ikeme was taken off at half-time on Saturday due to the injury and replaced by Andy Lonerga.
Ikeme is Nigeria's number one goalkeeper and has been invited for the World Cup qualifier against Algeria on 12 November.
Ikeme was beaten from close range by Sam Gallagher in the 13th minute on Saturday and Wolves are now just three points off the drop zone.
"We deserved at least a point and lads all dug in. Hopefully injury nothing to serious.Congrats @_DaveEdwards great goal and performance," Ikeme tweeted after the game.
Meanwhile, interim Wolves manager Rob Edwards is obviously worried about Ikeme's injury.
"I hope his (Carl's) injury isn't too serious," Edwards told Wolves Player HD.
Ikeme has made 15 appearances for Wolves who are currently 17th on the Championship log with 15 points from 15 matches.
