Former Super Eagles forward Victor Ikpeba has told Completesportsnigeria.com that coach Gernot Rohr's selection will determine how the Nigerian senior national team will perform against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in September's 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers scheduled for the Uyo and Yaounde.
Speaking at a talent hunt programme held in Lagos, the former Monaco FC of France forward also charged Nigerian players home and abroad to work really hard ahead of the double header.
"You and I know that Nigeria as a nation is blessed with talents that can excel anywhere but we need to have clear mission of what we want to achieve in any game and one of the ways it can work is for us to have good selection", the former African Player of the Year told Compleyesportsnigeria.com.
"Cameroon is a good side but I believe we can beat them with good selection and the players should also know what they want in the match even before they go out on the field to play."
The Super Eagles list for the double header qualifiers is expected to be out in less than two weeks from now and Rohr is already working hard to ensure the best are called up for the crucial encounters.
Nigeria top Group B of the African qualifiers for the Russia mundial with six points after two games while the African champions maintain two points from two games.
The Super Eagles will host the Indomitable Lions on September 1 while the second leg match holds on September 4 in Cameroun.
