Ake Chelsea Option Revealed

Ake Chelsea Option Revealed

Bournemouth will have to offer Chelsea first refusal on Nathan Ake if they decide to cash in on the defender, reports claim. Chelsea allowed Ake to join the Cherries in a deal worth £20million, and in what now looks to be a very shrewd move, they insisted on having first option to take him back for a fee of £40million.

Ake has gone on to be a revelation for Bournemouth and his form has attracted the attention of both Manchester United and Tottenham, who are said to be lining up bids at the end of the season.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri would be interested in taking Ake back to Stamford Bridge, and the decision as to whether he leaves or not is still down to Bournemouth, but the news could frustrate United and Spurs.

If Bournemouth did decide to cash in then they would have to offer Chelsea the opportunity to take him back, and that could leave United and Spurs in limbo as they look to strengthen their defence.
