Angers have signed former midfielder Chiekh Ndoye from Birmingham City on a loan deal until the end of the season. Ndoye only joined the Championship club last summer, when Harry Redknapp brought him to St Andrew’s.
He made 42 appearances for Blues in all competitions, including figuring in both of Birmingham’s Championship games this season, but has been allowed to return to France to ease the burden of the club’s financial problems, which have severely limited boss Garry Monk in the transfer market.
Ndoye spent two years with Angers before joining Birmingham, with the 32-year-old Senegal international making a name for himself as a goalscoring midfielder, netting 14 from the middle of the park in two seasons.
Now, coach Stephane Moulin has moved to bring him back to the club to help in their Ligue 1 campaign.
“It is return to his former club for the 32-year-old Senegalese international who left Angers at the end of the 2016-17 campaign, at the conclusion of his contract,” read a statement on club website.
