Arter Poised To Make Bluebirds Debut

Harry Arter is poised to make his Cardiff City debut when the Bluebirds host Newcastle United at lunchtime on Saturday. The Bournemouth midfielder, who joined City on a season-long loan deal last week, was ineligible to face his parent club on the opening weekend of the Premier League campaign.

But Cardiff boss Neil Warnock has confirmed the 28-year-old is in his plans for his side’s first home league game of the season.
“You’ll definitely see him in the 18,” said the Bluebirds boss.
“He’s such an effervescent character. He’s full of beans on the training ground, I think [Bournemouth] paid £4,000 for him a few years ago and he just wants to play football. We’re delighted to have him, and I think he can give us another dimension. I think Victor [Camarasa] can too when he gets up to tempo.”

Warnock’s comments suggest Camarasa, signed on loan from Real Betis, will have to wait a little longer for his debut with Joe Ralls likely to continue in midfield.
Callum Paterson, who was not at his best against Bournemouth, could be the man to make way for Arter if the manager brings him straight into the side while Sol Bamba will probably reprise his defensive midfield role with Aron Gunnarsson still not fit.
Kenneth Zohore, who missed last week’s 2-0 defeat with a slight groin niggle, faces a late fitness test.
