Wales super star Gareth Bale will miss Real Madrid’s Group G Champions League game at CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night.
Bale, who has scored four goals this season, went off at half-time in Real’s goalless La Liga draw against city rivals Atletico Madrid on Saturday after he picked up a thigh injury, and has not recovered in time to feature.
Los Blancos head coach Julen Lopetegui is also without his captain Sergio Ramos, fellow defender Marcelo and midfielder Isco – none of whom travelled with the squad to Moscow.
Despite their recent blip in form in La Liga where they have failed to win their last two matches, they go into the Champions League game in good spirits.
Real have won the competition for the past three years and eased past Serie A side Roma 3-0 in their opening Group G game.
