According to reports in Italy, Barcelona are set to step up their approach for Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly. The Senegal international starred in the 1-0 win over Liverpool in the Champions League, with Barcelona scouts in attendance.
Koulibaly was on hand to help his team keep a clean sheet, with Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino kept quiet for 90 minutes.
Liverpool failed to register a shot on target during their trip to the Stadio San Paolo and Barcelona chiefs are now ready to make their move, with Premier League clubs said to have been put off by the €100million asking price.
Koulibaly’s agent Bruno Satin has welcomed such high-profile interest and has claimed his charge could play for any club in the world.
He told Braida: “Kalidou can play for any team in the world, be it Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. He recently renewed his contract, but we’re seeing that Pique isn’t going through a good spell at Barcelona.”
