Bath have asked organisers to allow their European Champions Cup clash to be replayed against Toulouse due to “negligence”. The English side have complained at the match officials following their 22-20 loss during the Pool 1 opener last weekend.
Freddie Burns’ late error cost his team dear, with the fly-half failing to ground the ball when under the posts.
However, Bath owner Bruce Craig has two other areas of concern, starting with the referee. Andrew Brace blew the final whistle with a few seconds left on the clock after Bath had won a lineout near the Toulouse tryline.
They also believe that Toulouse players Jerome Kaino and Lucas Pointud should have been sent off, but both were cited after the match and suspended by a disciplinary tribunal for foul play.
When asked about the game, Craig told The Times: “I think the game should be replayed. We will do what we can to get equity.”
