Bellew Confident Ahead Of clash

Former WBC world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew says he is neither in awe of or frightened of Saturday’s opponent Oleksandr Usyk. Bellew has not fought since his stoppage of former heavyweight champion David Haye last time out back in May, but says his confidence could not be higher going into the fight in Manchester this weekend.

Despite a brace of wins over former heavyweight world champion Haye, Bellew goes into the Usyk fight as the underdog but as he prepares to challenge for WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO world cruiserweight belts, he says he is ready.

“Believe me, I’m not in awe of this man, I do not fear this man and I will not stand there and let him rattle five and six punch combinations off my head,” Bellew told ESPN. “That cannot happen. This fella will feel what I’ve got. At no moment will I feel I’m beaten – no chance. “I still feel only one fighter really beat me and that was Adonis Stevenson so I’ve got a massive amount of belief in myself.”
