Billing Hints At Future Terriers Exit

Philip Billing has hinted he may have to leave Huddersfield in the future to fulfil his career ambitions.

The Danish under-21 international has enjoyed a breakthrough season at the John Smith’s Stadium, as he has started all 15 of their Premier League games to date, forming a strong midfield partnership alongside Aaron Mooy and Jonathan Hogg.

Billing’s performances have led a number of people to suggest that he has a big future in the game and the 22-year-old has indicated that he does have ambitions of challenging at the top of the Premier League standings and playing in the Champions League at some stage of his career.

“Right now my ambition is just playing all the time,” Billing told BT. “But in the long term, there is much I would like to achieve. I would like a great career in the Premier League and hopefully to play for a big club one day.

And try to play in the Champions League. I would also like to try to play in a World Cup – and the other big competitions.”

Billing is certainly confident of achieving his goals, but he insists, for the time being, he is happy at Huddersfield. “In general, achieve what a top player achieves. Because I definitely believe that I have the qualities to become a top player. But right now it’s about Huddersfield, and then we have to see what’s happening in the future.”
