Valtteri Bottas praised Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton for winning the drivers’ title and says the focus is now on the team prize. Hamilton landed the Drivers’ Championship with a fourth-place finish at the Mexico GP on Sunday, while Bottas came in fifth as tyre issues impacted on his race.

Bottas says Mercedes must investigate those problems and keep their focus as they bid to land the Constructors’ Championship.
“I’m really happy for Lewis, but we cannot be satisfied with today’s race, it was very difficult,” said the Finn after the race. “The start of the race was actually pretty good, but then we started to struggle with the tyres.
“I think most teams struggled a bit, but maybe not as much as we did, so we will have to investigate.
“Again, congrats to Lewis – now we need to make sure to keep pushing and claim the Constructors’ Championship as well.”
Mercedes lead the constructors’ standings with 585 points, 55 clear of nearest rivals Ferrari with two grands prix remaining.
