Daniel Caligiuri says Schalke need to cut out the mistakes that have blighted their performances so far this season. Last season’s Bundesliga runners-up have had a poor start, losing their first two games against Wolfsburg and Hertha Berlin.
Much more is expected of Caligiuri and co and they will look to get their first points on the board when they travel to Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday when the domestic action resumes following the international break.
The 30-year-old says the focus in training has been good from the players who were not away with their countries and everyone is determined to cut out the errors that have cost them so far.
“We have had a good week and have worked very hard. We have been highly concentrated and done a lot of good work in training. It is also important that we start enjoying our football again.
We also need to eliminate the lapses in concentration that we’ve all had in the first couple of games,” Caligiuri said on the Schalke website.
“We have had made too many mistakes in the past few games, which have then leads to lapses in concentration, and then our passing game has also suffered. We’ve just lost possession too much.”
