Chelsea are bracing themselves for interest in Ruben Loftus-Cheek from West Ham United, but a loan deal is unlikely to happen. Despite impressing at Crystal Palace while on loan last season which resulted in him making England’s World Cup squad, Loftus-Cheek has again struggled for regular action at Stamford Bridge.
However when he has been given a chance in the side, the midfielder has impressed and bagged a hat-trick in the 3-1 victory over Bate Borisov in the Europa League, which came after another goal in the 4-0 win at Burnley.
Clubs are forming an orderly queue ahead of the transfer window opening in January, with Palace keen to take him back, while Everton are also in the hunt.
However reports in the last 24 hours have suggested that the Hammers have jumped to the top of the queue and will make an attempt to do a deal in January.
Maurizio Sarri has already ruled out a loan deal as he feel Loftus-Cheek will be needed over the course of the season, but it remains to be seen what would happen if a permanent bid came in.
