Cesar Azpilicueta says Chelsea need to start creating more opportunities when they get into the final third.
The Blues brought in Maurizio Sarri as Antonio Conte’s replacement this summer and the new man in charge has guided his side to three consecutive Premier League victories, the most recent a 2-1 win at Newcastle United.
Chelsea have managed to score eight league goals – conceding just three – but Spain international Azpilicueta says his side need to create more when they get into good positions.
He told the club’s official website: “Creating more chances from open play is something we will work on, I’m sure. We want to control the game and have the ball, and we want to be dangerous in front of the goal. As a team we know we can improve and we will work on that.”
Chelsea return to league action on Saturday when they entertain Bournemouth, who have picked up seven points from a possible nine on offer, at Stamford Bridge.
