Manchester City midfielder Douglas Luiz is being linked with a loan switch to Celtic before Friday’s transfer deadline. City have failed to get a work permit for the Brazilian, but it is claimed that will not be a problem for Celtic, who will be able to hand the youngster some first-team experience.
The 20-year-old spent last season on loan with Girona, but made just one start for the Spanish side, so City will not be willing to send him back for a second spell.
A move to Benfica has also been suggested, but after talks over a loan switch stalled, City have been left looking for other options, one of which is Celtic.
The Blues have a good relationship with the Scottish champions having sent Patrick Roberts there on a two-year loan deal, while Australian youngster Daniel Arzani has also been sent to Parkhead this season.
Celtic are looking to sign another midfielder to boost their options and it would appear that Luiz is high on their wanted list.
