Cockerill Demands Edinburgh Improvement

Richard Cockerill says Edinburgh need to be “better across the board” when they take on Ulster in the Pro14 on Friday. The Scottish side went down 17-13 to Ospreys in their season-opener and coach Cockerill has demanded an improvement at Ulster.

“We’ve worked really hard this week, especially on ball control and set-piece, making sure we execute in the right areas. We need to be better across the board,” he said, as reported by the BBC.

“We know that the Ulster crowd will be vocal and will be behind their team, so we need to control the game and field position, keeping that support as quiet as possible.”

Jamie Ritchie makes a return in the back row for Edinburgh in place of flanker Hamish Watson, Tom Brown replaces Duhan van der Merwe, who is following return-to-play protocols after suffering a concussion, while WP Nel comes in at tight-head in place of Simon Berghan.
