Curry To Return Against Pistons

Steph Curry will return to action for the Golden State Warriors against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday, Steve Kerr has confirmed. Curry has been sidelined since November 8 with a groin injury which he sustained in the 111-134 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Warriors, who sit second in the Western Conference standings, have a 5-5 record in Curry’s absence and will be delighted to have the two-time MVP back in the mix.

Thursday’s clash with the Toronto Raptors comes too soon for Curry but head coach Kerr confirmed he will return on Saturday.

Kerr said: “Steph is not going to play tomorrow [Thursday night], he wants to play, he’s ready to play and we are just going to be extra cautious.

“Rick [Celebrini, director of sports medicine and performance] felt very strongly based on his years of experience doing this stuff that it makes sense to be extra careful, but he will play in Detroit.

“He’s dying to play, he loves playing in Toronto, he’s got great memories of being there when Dell [Wardell Stephen Curry, Steph’s Dad] was playing at the Raptors.

“He’s dying to play but we rely heavily on Rick, Rick is really good at his job, he knows what he is talking about, and he thinks it makes a lot more sense to give him two more days to extra cautious and that is what we are going to do.”
