Manchester City right-back Danilo is back in full training after recovering from the foot injury that kept him out of the World Cup. The Brazil international defender suffered the injury during a training session and took no part in Manchester City’s pre-season programme.
It’s understood Danilo received the go-ahead this week to rejoin the main group although it would still be a surprise to see him immediately included in Pep Guardiola’s squad for Saturday’s home clash against promoted Fulham.
The City boss will certainly be boosted by his return to fitness, however, with Champions League football also back on the agenda next week against Ligue 1 side Lyon.
Danilo was signed in the summer of 2017 from Real Madrid for £27million and proved to be a very useful utility player, making a total of 38 appearances for the Premier League champions.
The South American is able to fill in at left-back and also in midfield, with City’s medical staff confident the two-time Champions League winner will be up to speed in the coming days and weeks.
