Davies Savours Grand Final Win

Winger Tom Davies says winning the Super League Grand Final was the “best moment of my life”. In coach Shaun Wane’s final game in charge, the Warriors came from behind to win a hard-fought, scrappy encounter, to get their fifth Super League Grand Final title and third of the boss’ era.

Tries in either half from Dom Manfredi, who has battled back from two nightmare injury seasons, and Davies himself were enough to beat Warrington, whose 63-year wait to win the top flight continues.

Davies admitted that he was slightly overwhelmed after the final hooter, adding that all the team were caught up in their emotions after their victory.

The winger said: “I’m lost for words. To be involved, it’s without a doubt the best moment of my life and I can’t explain how much it means to me and how happy I am.

“It’s a dream come true and I’ve loved every second of it.
“It was absolutely unbelievable. The atmosphere and the lads hugging one another. I was emotional for a little bit but you work all year for this one moment and to finally get here is just huge. It’s massive for us.”
