De Bruyne Still In Leg Brace

De Bruyne Still In Leg Brace

Kevin De Bruyne has been ordered to keep wearing a leg brace despite the recent positive updates on his knee injury. The Manchester City midfielder last week visited Barcelona-based surgeon De Ramon Cugat for the third time since suffering damaged lateral ligaments in training last month, which is expected to keep him sidelined until late November.

The signs are encouraging for the Belgium international and it is believed he was given the green light to step up the next stage in his recovery programme.

De Bruyne was keen to remove his knee brace but his request was blocked, with both his doctors and City still wanting to adopt a cautious approach for a couple more weeks.

The 27-year-old remains hopeful he can return within the three-month diagnosis but boss Pep Guardiola does not expect his influential playmaker to be back fully firing again until the busy Christmas period.

City’s board have also made it clear to their manager there is money available for him to spend in January should Guardiola feel the need to further bolster his midfield options, with Wolves’ Portuguese starlet Ruben Neves currently on their watchlist.
