Borussia Dortmund are reportedly keen to complete a deal to sign Manchester City youngster Phil Foden. Foden has made fleeting appearances for the City first team over the last two seasons, and has generally impressed, with Pep Guardiola known to be a huge fan of the midfielder.

However, with City signing Riyad Mahrez in the summer, they have plenty of experienced cover in the attacking areas and his opportunities are still very limited, as he has spent most of the Premier League season on the bench.
Reports suggest that City are struggling to convince Foden to pen a new deal with the club, putting Dortmund on alert for the England under-17 World Cup winner’s signature.
Dortmund have already prised Jadon Sancho away from England to continue his development in Germany and Foden may look at his example if he feels like he will not get a first team chance at the Etihad.
Foden’s contract runs out in 2020 and he could leave for a fee as small as £175,000.
