Crystal Palace could be without defender Mamadou Sakho for Saturday’s clash at Manchester United. Former Liverpool centre-back Sakho started France’s 1-0 friendly win against Uruguay on Tuesday night but was replaced at the break by Presnel Kimpembe after appearing to pick up a back injury.
The 28-year-old is set to be monitored over the next couple of days but initial reports are claiming he will not be available for the clash at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
Sakho has been an ever-present in the Premier League this season and his absence would be a huge for miss for Palace, who are just two places above the relegation zone after failing to win any of their last seven matches.
If the Frenchman is ruled out of the game, manager Roy Hodgson will have to choose between Martin Kelly and Joel Ward to replace the defender.
