Kevin Ryan-trained filly East is set for a deserved holiday after a fine effort in the Breeders Cup, with the trainer excited by her future. After making a winning start to her career at Hamilton back in September, the daughter of Frankel then stepped up a grade to win a Group Three at Saint-Cloud.
At the weekend she was at Churchill Downs, where she finished second behind odds-on favourite Newspaperofrecord, and a delighted Ryan says she will now get a deserved holiday.
Ryan told Sky Sports: “She ran a great race. She had a terrible draw (stall 14) to contend with and the winner was exceptional, but she ran very well. “We knew she was a good filly going there and she did us proud. We’re delighted with her. “That’s her now for this year and she’ll go on her holidays now.”
