Everton Eye Talents In Under-23 Clash

Everton have been linked to two of the players on show in the past few months with Leeds defender Tom Pearce and Nottingham Forest forward Brennan Johnson possibly those under the microscope.

Leeds left-back Pearce was released by the Toffees as a schoolboy but was being eyed up by Everton and Bournemouth last summer before he signed a new contract at Elland Road.

Johnson, the son of former Manchester United, Ipswich and Forest striker David, has also previously been courted by Everton earlier in his career.

The 17-year-old was involved in everything good that Forest’s Under-23s did on the afternoon and would surely have impressed the Toffees’ scout watching on from the sidelines.

But the stand-out performer was Arvin Appiah, whose display would have impressed the watching England Under-18 coaches in Neil Dewsnip and Keith Don
