Everton are said to be one of a number of clubs keen on Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek and may make a January move. Marco Silva is expected to be handed a transfer budget to spend in the new year although how much is open to question.
Despite impressing at Crystal Palace on loan last season, which resulted in him making England’s World Cup squad, Loftus-Cheek has again struggled for regular action at Stamford Bridge.
However, when he has been given a chance in the side, the midfielder has impressed and he bagged a hat-trick in the 3-1 victory over Bate Borisov in the Europa League, which came after another goal in the 4-0 win at Burnley.
Clubs are forming an orderly queue ahead of the transfer window opening in January, with Palace keen to take him back, while West Ham are also in the hunt.
Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri says Loftus-Cheek has a big future at Stamford Bridge and does not want to let him go but if he continues to struggle for first-team action, the player himself may try force the issue and Everton are monitoring developments.
