The Colombia international enjoyed two successful seasons with the capital club, scoring 70 goals from 91 appearances in all competitions before leaving for Monaco in 2013.
He knows that victory over Atletico is vital if the Ligue 1 outfit are to keep alive their slim hopes of staying in the competition but, whatever happens, the South American will enjoy the moment.
“Firstly, I would like to say that it is always good for me to come to Atletico’s stadium, even if this is a different one from where I played,” Falcao told reporters.
“A lot of time has passed since I was last here – I have experienced many great moments here and those are memories that I will cherish forever.
“Also, when I see the fans, the people that also work at the club… it generates a lot of emotion in me, and of course this is also a really important match for my Monaco team.”
