Turkish giants Fenerbahce have played down reports that claim they want to sign Tottenham winger Moussa Sissoko.
The 29-year-old has dropped down the pecking order under Mauricio Pochettino and could be on his way out before Friday’s transfer deadline.
Reports in England and France have claimed the France international was in talks with the Turkish outfit.
Sissoko was left out of Tottenham’s squad for the 3-0 win over Manchester United but Fenerbahce have moved quickly to squash any rumours.
In a statement on Tuesday, Fenerbahce said: “In the public opinion, the news that we are attempting to transfer Moussa Sissoko … does not reflect the truth.
“Regarding a transfer of Moussa Sissoko to our club, there has been no contact with the player, the manager or the club.”
Sissoko has made 25 Premier League starts in two years and 35 more as a sub but he still has three years left on his current deal.
