Fernley Ends Force India Stint

Bob Fernley has reportedly left his role with Force India on the back of the recent Lawrence Stroll-led consortium takeover.

The 50-year-old was handed the role of deputy team principal since Force India’s rebrand in 2008 and was effectively in charge on the majority of race days when team boss Vijay Mallya was not in attendance.

However, after Stroll’s consortium helped pull the Silverstone-based Formula 1 outfit out of administration in order to ensure they can complete the 2018 campaign, Fernley has now departed his post.

His exit will see Otmar Szafnauer step up from chief operating officer to take up the role of team principal, while Andrew Green is their technical director.
